There are some amazing pictures coming out of The Beards and Moustaches World Championship 2011 at Trondheim in Norway.
I particularly like the superb offering from Dieter Besuch of Germany (first picture), who won the Partial Beard Freestyle category.
I have fond memories of Trondheim, having once travelled there for a wedding. Didn't know I was going to be bestman until I had arrived in a T-shirt and jeans (long time ago - and I was a student). I had to borrow a suit.
Although their English was very good indeed (probably better than a lot of Englishmen) nobody laughed at my jokes. They didn't understand the puns. And it was a bit deflating when a guest came up after the reception and said: "I'm told you made a funny speech!"
Beautiful town in a beautiful country - and holding the beard championships there proves they really do have a sense of humour.
