F-16 jets scrambled as woman, 75, flies into restricted airspace with no radio

Two F-16 jet fighters were scrambled when Myrtle Rose, a 75-year-old pilot, flew her Kitfox Model 2 light aircraft into restricted airspace during president Barack Obama's visit to Chicago.

They were scrambled when air traffic controllers couldn't contact Myrtle, of South Barrington, Illinois, because she didn't have a radio!

She was reported to have been a bit "surprised".

False 'Obama shot dead' tweet sent by hacker from Fox news Twitter account

The Secret Service have been asked to investigate after a Fox Twitter account was hacked and a false tweet sent claiming that President Barack Obama had been assassinated.

Hackers tried to spread "news" that the President had been killed by two gunshots at a restaurant in Iowa as the nation celebrated the Fourth of July.
