A meteor was spotted throughout Britain yesterday, with police forces receiving numerous calls of a ‘bright light’ and an ‘orange glow’.
Air traffic control confirmed that there had not been any incidents involving aircraft. And the Met Office tweeted: "Hi All, for anyone seeing something in the night sky, we believe it was a meteorite."
