Test-tube burger could be ready in October – scientists in Holland growing meat
An artificial burger made from meat grown in a test-tube could be available by the end of the year.
Scientists in Holland are working on a $330,000 project that involves stem cells from a cow and funds from an anonymous investor.
According to the Los Angeles Times, scientists led by Mark Post, chairman of physiology at Maastrict University, have already produced ‘several small strips of muscle tissue’. Once thousands more are made, they could be mashed together to make a burger.
The first burger made from test-tube meat could be available in October.
