A bear has killed a man out hiking with his wife in Yellowstone National Park. The couple had surprised a grizzly and her cubs on the isolated Wapiti Lake Trail.
The woman was chased by the bear, lifted into the air by her rucksack, but survived when the bear retreated.
It was the first bear killing in the park since 1986.
