Dr Richard Edwards's hands were so badly burned in an accident five years ago that he found it difficult to perform simple tasks.
Now he has two new ones thanks to a rare double hand transplant by surgeons at The Jewish Hospital Hand Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
The BBC reports on what happened when the bandages were removed and Dr Edwards saw his new hands for the first time.
