Gender-free school - no 'him' or 'her' - just 'hens' and 'friends'

A pre-school in Stockholm, Sweden, has become gender free, with teachers avoiding the use of "him" and "her". Instead, they refer to pupils as "friends" or by their first names.

They also call them "hen" - which is, according to the BBC, a genderless word borrowed from Finnish.

Ah, doesn't that just prove the difficulties you face when trying to be all politically correct and manipulative of nature... "hen" might be all right in Sweden, but imagine if you called everyone that in English-speaking countries. Rather defeats the object, doesn't it?
