Mother, 34, wakes thinking she is 15 - rare amnesia causes 17-year memory loss

Naomi Jacobs, a 34 year old mother from Manchester, woke up one day believing that she was just 15 years old and about to take her school exams.

Doctors say that she had been under such stress that part of her brain had shut down, leaving her with a 17-year gap in her memory.

Naomi was dumbfounded to discover that she had not just fallen asleep in her bunk bed as a schoolgirl and was in fact the mother of a boy, aged 11, whom she did not recognise.

Three years after the incident, Naomi has regained most of her memories and has written a book about her experience.
