Footballer granted injunction feared 'boos and cruel' chants at league games

A Premier League footballer who had an affair was granted an injunction after telling a judge he was afraid of being “booed and subjected to cruel chants” during games.

Oh dear, fans will boo him even more when they find out who he is ... and they will.

By seeking an injunction, the player has probably turned it into a bigger news story than it would have been.

The judge, who today revealed the reasons behind this particular injunction granted last week, dismissed claims that breaches on Twitter had made gagging orders futile.

His remarks came after the Prime Minister, David Cameron, said privacy injunctions were “unsustainable”.
