TRAIN passengers had to run for their lives when dozens of deadly snakes were found on a train in Vietnam.

Officials were checking tickets on the train from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi when they spotted king cobras and cobras under a seat. The extremely poisonous snakes can kill a man in 30 minutes.

A smuggler escaped as terrified passengers fled the carriage.

The king cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is the world's longest venomous snake. It is fierce and agile, and delivers a huge amount of venom in a single bite. It is one of the most dangerous and feared snakes in Asia.
